Luke
Luke is the oldest at 15 and is a great kid. He has a heart of gold and will do anything for anyone. I can always count on him to help me out. He is sensitive, compassionate, and loves God passionately.
He also loves animals and video games (what 15 year old boy doesn’t?!?) Luke is incredibly athletic. He excels at every sport he attempts and it is effortless for him. He loves being outdoors where he can ride his bike and skateboard.
Luke joined our family in Dec 02 at the age of 7 with his biological sibling Joshua.
Kathryn
Kathryn is the second oldest at 13. She is charming, energetic, and enthusiastic and draws people in with her cheerfulness.
Kathryn participates in cheer and dance and is very talented. She is a natural performer and lights up the floor with her enthusiastic smile.
She is still struggling to overcome emotional challenges from past abuse and neglect, and can be quite sharp tongued and temperamental at times. However, her true nature is delightful and loving, and she longs to please those around her.
Kathryn joined the family at the age of 6 in August 04 with her biological sibling Daniel.
Paul
Paul is the third oldest at 12, just five months younger than Kathryn. He is intelligent, creative, and funny and asks the most insightful questions. He loves building, creating, and eating! He would be content to spend all day building with Legos, as long as he didn’t miss a meal in the process!
Paul has struggled with fear resulting from his past abuse and neglect, but he is becoming braver everyday.
Paul joined the family at the age of 7 in June 06 with his biological siblings Caleb, Juliana, and Josiah.
Daniel
Daniel is the fourth oldest at 11 years old. He is sweet, loving, and has the most incredible smile that melts my heart.
Daniel has overcome remarkable challenges and makes progress every day. He is suspected to have Asperger’s Syndrome and was essentially non-verbal when he joined our family. He now talks all the time and is learning to communicate better every day.
Daniel is a daily reminder of how powerful our God is! Raising him has given us front row seats to a miracle.
Daniel was 4 when he joined our family in August 06 with his biological sibling Kathryn.
Joshua
Joshua is the fifth oldest at 10, just four months younger than Daniel.
Joshua is easy-going, loving, and friendly. He is one of those kids that everyone loves! He is rarely in a bad mood and is eager to help out when he can. Josh has an absolutely magnetic personality. His good nature and open heart pull people to him.
Joshua joined the family in Dec 02 at the age of 2 with his biological sibling Luke.
Caleb
Caleb is the sixth oldest at 10 years old. He is sweet, affectionate, and outrageously rotten! He is incredibly hyperactive and gets into all sorts of trouble, especially when his meds aren’t working. However, he has an irresistible charm to him that makes you love him anyway!
Like Paul, Caleb struggles with a great deal of fear. He is often anxious and afraid and seeks reassurance. Caleb loves people! He is very social and hates being alone. He is outgoing, talkative, and sweet-natured. He is one of those children that drives you crazy at times and melts your heart at others!
Caleb joined the family at the age of 5 in July 06 with his biological siblings Paul, Juliana, and Josiah.
Juliana
Juliana is technically the seventh oldest at 9, beating Josiah (her twin) into the world by about 7 minutes! She is precocious, spunky, and incredibly intelligent! Her vocabulary rivals that of children much older than her and she can read almost anything.
JuJu (as we call her) always makes me think of a pixie! She has a high, sweet little voice, loads of attitude, and prances around on her toes constantly.
Born at 27 weeks, both of the twins have mild Cerebral Palsy. JuJu tends to be floppy and struggles with lower muscle tone, and we are closely monitoring her for scoliosis. Other than being unable to tumble and cheer with her friends, it hasn’t slowed her down much!
Juliana joined the family at the age of 4 in July 06 with her biological siblings Paul, Caleb, and Josiah.
Josiah
Josiah is the “baby” of the family at 9! He is lovable, goofy, and has the most outrageous sense of humor!
It is so hard to capture the essence of Josiah in words because he is so unlike anyone I have ever met. He is extremely silly and is constantly doing something that makes us laugh. He is unique, original, and impossible to resist.
Like Caleb, he has a tendency to get into trouble, but you just have to love him anyway! He is immature and a little developmentally behind, but is making progress all the time.
Josiah joined the family in July 06 at the age of 4 with his biological siblings Paul, Caleb, and Juliana.
